Traffic and Construction Updates

By reinvesting toll dollars, THEA is able to fund essential projects like the lane resurfacing we have been doing this year. Please be aware of the upcoming roadwork during the week of June 30th, 2024 as we continue to wrap up this project:

Beginning on 6/28/2024 at 9:00 AM, the City of Tampa will be closing Twiggs Street Eastbound from Meridian Avenue to N. 12th Street. During this closure, Selmon Expressway drivers will no longer be able to make a left turn on Twiggs Street after exiting the REL to Meridian Avenue. The closure will be in place until 11/27/2024. You will be able to travel west on Twiggs Street. The Deputy Kotfila Dog Park will remain open and will not be affected by the construction. #TRAFFICALERT: We will be replacing damaged gates at the I-75 WB entrance to the REL on Friday, 6/28, from 10 AM to 1 PM. To ensure safety, this section of the REL and the EB leg of the typical split operation will also be closed. Thank you for your patience and drive safely!

#TRAFFICALERT: Heads up, Tampa! THEA will be repairing the guardrail tonight, requiring the closure of the inside westbound lane from 19th St. to 34th St. starting at 11 PM. Expect closures for a few hours. Drive safely and plan accordingly!
