 Florida Automated Vehicles (FAV) Summit

September 4th – September 6th

Tampa Marriott Water Street, 505 Water St., Tampa, FL 33602

Media Day: Thursday September 5th, 10 am – 6 pm

In collaboration with Florida’s Expressway Authorities, the Florida Policy Project (FPP) is proud to sponsor the FAV 2024 Summit. Led by former Senator Jeff Brandes, the Summit has been hosted across Florida for 12 years. Senator Brandes has tirelessly championed legislation to improve mobility for the efficient shipping of goods in the state and for greater equity across communities.

“This event is an opportunity to educate legislators and industry leaders by coming together to share ideas that will shape the future of mobility and keep Florida at the cutting edge of innovation as this field continues to evolve,” said Brandes.

Tyler Duvall, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Cavnue, will be this year’s keynote speaker, bringing invaluable insights to the discussion. At Cavnue, Duvall leads efforts to combine technology and road infrastructure to unlock the full potential of connected and autonomous vehicles. The company brings advanced transportation technology to highways, creating a “smart highway” system that helps to improve safety today and could help power the autonomous vehicles of tomorrow. Before joining Cavnue, Duvall served in several roles in the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT), where he led the Department’s efforts to modernize transportation infrastructure through new procurement, technology, and financing approaches.

“This conference provides a vital platform for sharing best practices and connecting with leaders from around the country,” said Greg Slater, THEA’s Executive Director & CEO. He further noted, “THEA has been at the forefront of pioneering transportation solutions, such as our groundbreaking Connected Vehicle Pilot Program, with the mission of integrating technology that will help us connect people to their destinations—safely, efficiently, and seamlessly.”

At the FAV Summit, ACES is not only discussed but also previewed, with demonstrations from Guident, IntelliRoad, Bird, Saferydr, and LandRotor that provide real-life experiences in downtown Tampa.

A wide range of industry experts from the private and public sectors will speak on the global impact of ACES in the coming years and decades. The full list of speakers can be found on the FAV Summit website, https://favsummit.com.

FPP and THEA have partnered with the Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA), the Central Florida Expressway Authority (CFX), and the Greater Miami Expressway Authority (GMX) to bring the industry’s thought leaders and policymakers together for a peek into the future of our transportation in agriculture, port, and commercial trucking industries.
