Media Advisory: Overnight Closure of Selmon Expressway West Extension for Continued Bridge Inspection

Tampa, FL (June 25, 2024) – The Tampa Hillsborough Expressway Authority (THEA) announces an upcoming overnight closure of the Selmon Expressway West Extension in the westbound direction for continued bridge inspections on June 27, 2024, starting at 8:00 PM. This closure follows the continuation of inspections from last Thursday evening.

Motorists should expect only minor delays. THEA kindly requests westbound drivers to use Gandy Boulevard’s local lanes during the overnight closure of the westbound lanes to minimize the impact on their travel plans.

The closure starts on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at 8:00 pm and will reopen on Friday, June 28, 2024, before 6:00 am.

Location: Selmon Expressway West Extension (elevated lanes over Gandy Boulevard)
