Overnight Bridge Maintenance on Selmon Expressway West Extension

Tampa, FL (August 14, 2024) – The Tampa Hillsborough Expressway Authority (THEA) will be performing bridge maintenance at the Selmon West Extension bridge over Gandy Boulevard. The work will be performed between the hours of 8:00 PM and 6:00 AM starting on Friday, August 16th and will be completed by Tuesday, August 20th.

Crews will be using the median on Gandy Boulevard to transport materials into the bridge with most of the work being performed inside the structure. Out of an abundance of caution, the crews will perform up to three rolling closures per night with a safety vehicle blocking traffic from traveling on and under the bridge  for up to fifteen minutes at a time.

• Timing: Between 8:00 PM and 6:00 AM
• Location: Minimal nightly 15-minute rolling closures between Gandy Boulevard near Manhattan Avenue
