SunPass

SunPass is the preferred payment method for travelers of the Selmon network of roads since the toll collections happen all-electronically with no cash. SunPass holders also pay 36 cents less at each tolling location and do not incur a per-invoice administration fee.

Opening a SunPass account requires the purchase, activation, and installation of the transponder as well as a prepaid balance on your account to keep it active. The two most commonly used SunPass transponders are the SunPass Mini and the SunPass PRO. Both devices are placed on your vehicle’s windshield, just below the rearview mirror. As the vehicle passes through tolled roads, the toll charges are electronically deducted from your prepaid toll account.

SunPass Installation

Installation instructions are included in the transponder packaging when you purchase a SunPass Mini or a SunPass PRO. While both are designed to adhere to your vehicle's windshield, certain vehicles have windshields that may prevent your transponder from being read properly, such as those that have metal oxide or infrared-reflecting glass. Some vehicles may require the transponder to be mounted to the bumper.

If you are unsure about whether your vehicle has one of these windshields, contact the dealer where you purchased your vehicle. If your transponder is not always being read when driving through SunPass lanes, please call the SunPass Customer Service Center at 1-888-TOLL-FLA (1-888-865-5352).

SunPass can be used on toll roads, bridges and managed lanes to pay the lowest toll rate in Florida. SunPass transponders are interoperable, meaning that a customer who prepaid an account with one toll agency like SunPass can commute and have their tolls automatically charged at other toll agencies.

Both SunPass Mini and SunPass PRO work across Florida, Georgia and North Carolina. By partnering with E-ZPass, customers using SunPass PRO can travel toll roads in the following 19 states: Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia and West Virginia.

SunPass accounts can be set up and replenished with cash, check, debit or credit. For more information, go to www.sunpass.com or call (888) 865-5352.
