Frames on Franklin Welcomes The Soldier’s Lens

THEA’s Frames on Franklin public art installation is welcoming a new exhibition honoring our military community. The Soldier’s Lens, presented in partnership with the Florida Museum of Photographic Arts (FMoPA), shares powerful images captured by active-duty service members, veterans and their families.

Next time you’re in downtown Tampa, stop by Frames on Franklin beneath the Selmon Expressway, across from USF Health CAMLS, and experience these stories for yourself.

An Ever-Changing Gallery

Frames on Franklin is a living art piece that turns an everyday stretch of infrastructure into a vibrant community space. Rather than a single permanent display, the installation rotates exhibitions throughout the year, so there’s always something new to discover.

Each installation reflects a different part of the people, stories and energy that make Tampa Bay unique. Past displays have highlighted THEA’s properties and the ways we help connect Tampa’s urban core, from the Selmon Greenway to the Deputy Kotfila Memorial Dog Park. Now, the frames are being refreshed to tell a new story.

About The Soldier’s Lens

The Soldier’s Lens offers a personal look at military life through the eyes of those who live it. The photographs, captured by active-duty service members, veterans and their families, share moments of service, sacrifice, connection and everyday life.

The installation at Frames on Franklin is part of a larger exhibition at the Florida Museum of Photographic Arts, on display November 5, 2026, through January 10, 2027. Visitors who want to see more of the collection are encouraged to visit FMoPA during the exhibition run.

Infrastructure That Does More

Frames on Franklin reflect THEA’s commitment to infrastructure that does more than move traffic. By investing in public spaces, supporting beautification efforts and partnering with local organizations like FMoPA, we’re helping make downtown Tampa more engaging, welcoming and connected.

Tampa Bay is proud to be home to MacDill Air Force Base and a large community of service members, veterans and military families. This exhibition is one way THEA can honor their stories and the role they play in our region.

Plan Your Visit
